Title: Global Procurement Specialist
Duration: Contract to Hire
Location: Houston (preferred), Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio
Hourly Range: 40/Hour - 48/Hour
Salary Range: 95-105k Depending on Experience
Summary
The Global Procurement Specialist plays a key role in sourcing and managing goods and services required to support business operations while balancing cost, quality, and risk. This position partners closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure purchasing activities are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives. The role emphasizes strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement of procurement practices.
Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers through structured sourcing activities, including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
Conduct market research to assess supplier capabilities, pricing models, and service offerings
Lead commercial and contractual negotiations to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and long-term value
Collaborate with legal, information security, and data protection teams to ensure contracts meet regulatory and risk requirements
Oversee vendor and contract lifecycles, including renewals, amendments, and performance reviews
Maintain accurate vendor records, documentation, and contract data within procurement systems
Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders by clarifying contractual scope, obligations, and limitations
Support stakeholder education by improving commercial and contractual awareness across teams
Perform supplier due diligence, including financial and risk assessments
Partner with procurement leadership to refine policies, workflows, and sourcing strategies
Build and sustain strong supplier relationships to enhance service quality, reliability, and innovation
Facilitate governance and supplier review meetings as required
Ensure procurement activities adhere to internal policies, approval frameworks, and ethical standards
Manage purchasing activities including quote review, purchase order creation, order tracking, and issue resolution
Coordinate with internal teams to meet procurement timelines and delivery expectations
Analyze purchasing and contract costs to ensure budget alignment and value optimization
Track savings, cost avoidance, and supplier performance metrics
Prepare reports and insights related to spend analysis and procurement outcomes
Assist with procurement-related initiatives such as system implementations, technology refreshes, and cross-functional projects
Support general procurement administration and respond to internal inquiries as needed
Skills
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related discipline
3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, ideally within a professional services environment
Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated success driving cost savings and value creation
Ability to build productive, trust-based relationships with internal partners and suppliers
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven mindset
Experience using procurement, contract management, or e-sourcing platforms
Working knowledge of contract principles; familiarity with IT service delivery concepts is a plus
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across multiple levels of the organization
